and so should you!
Numbers can be wonderful!
I have discovered a great website to help 8AP get ready for the Math regents exam.
This site is sponsored by Oswego city school district and has lots of great material to help get kids ready for the exam. Check it out!
Coming soon: my special tricks for graphing parabolas. I'll teach you about parabola's moods- happy and sad, how they relate to football- the whole interception thing, and that all important axis of symmetry.
Divisibility rule by 7
Here’s the rule:
Remove the last digit of the #, double that digit and then subtract it from the rest of the number (not including the digit which was removed). If you get a number divisible by 7, then your original # is divisible by 7!
For example: 273: Take the last digit 3, double it to get 6, and
then subtract it from 27: 27 – 6 = 21.
This rule is easier than the one I learned, I found it in a cool new math help book by Danica McKellar, entitled Math Doesn't Suck. She also wrote another book called Kiss My Math. All you junior high kids who struggle with math should check these titles out.
The New York State March 8th grade math assessment often focuses on geometry and solving algebraic equations. Please keep up with math HW
